Chris Moneymaker’s latest WSOP Main Event run came to a dramatic end, but ACR Poker still has two big names chasing poker’s most famous title.
The 2003 WSOP Main Event champion was eliminated in Event #82, the $10,000 WSOP Main Event No-Limit Hold’em World Championship. He was one of three players knocked out at the same time on the bubble, with WSOP officially recording him in 1,382nd place for a $10,000 payout.
That ended Moneymaker’s run, but not ACR Poker’s Main Event hopes.
Foxen And Zamani Keep The Main Event Run Alive
ACR Poker Pro Alex Foxen and Ambassador Martin Zamani both advanced to Day 5. Foxen finished Day 4 with 1,695,000 chips, while Zamani bagged 545,000.
With play set to resume with blinds at 10,000/20,000, Foxen will return with about 85 big blinds. Zamani will have roughly 27.
Foxen Adds Another Deep Run To A Bracelet-Winning Summer
For Foxen, the Main Event run adds to what has already been one of the standout summers of the series.
Earlier in the WSOP, Foxen won his fourth career bracelet by taking down Event #44, the $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty No-Limit Hold’em. He topped a 466-entry field and collected $594,246 for the win.
That was not his only major result. Foxen also finished sixth in Event #36, the $100,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em, for $522,347, and placed fourth in Event #7, the $25,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em Championship, for $300,000.
Zamani Brings Three Fourth-Place Finishes Into The Main Event
Zamani has also put together one of the most consistent WSOP summers of anyone wearing the ACR patch.
His biggest score came in Event #70, the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship, where he finished fourth for $445,080. He also placed fourth in Event #33, the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship, collecting $245,467.
His third fourth-place finish came in the same $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty event won by Foxen. Zamani earned $191,357 for that result, bringing his combined payouts from those three final-table appearances to $881,904.
More ACR Poker Names Have Made Noise in Las Vegas
The results have not stopped with Foxen and Zamani.
ACR Pro Chance Kornuth finished sixth in Event #24, the $25,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em 6-Handed, for $218,091. Chris Hunichen added a 10th-place finish in Event #36, the $100,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em, earning $211,842.
Chris Moorman also reached a WSOP final table, finishing seventh in Event #79, the $3,000 Freezeout No-Limit Hold’em, for $101,900.
The Biggest Dual Venoms Ever Are Coming Online
If big-field, high-pressure poker is the kind of action you’re after, ACR Poker’s upcoming Dual Mystery Bounty Venoms should be on your radar. The two events begin Thursday, August 13th and combine for $15 million in total guarantees, making them the biggest pair of Venoms in site history.
The Dual Venoms feature $12 million GTD NLH and $3 million GTD PLO Mystery Bounty Venom tournaments. Both events have a $2,650 buy-in and eight Day 1 flights. Once Day 2 begins, every knockout unlocks a Mystery Bounty, with every Day 2 player already in the money. The NLH features a $500,000 top bounty and the PLO features a $250,000 top bounty. Both have a $5,000 minimum bounty.
Plenty Still To Play For
Moneymaker may be out of the Main Event, but Foxen and Zamani are still alive, and ACR Poker’s summer is far from finished.
